Sarah Davis awarded Priscilla Tate Prize

Congratulations to Religion major Sarah Davis on winning the 2018-2019 Priscilla Tate Prize for Research and Creativity!  The prize is awarded annually to the TCU student whose work best exemplifies the ideals of Women and Gender Studies.  Sarah’s research was a feminist reinterpretation of the New Testament accounts of two women, Priscilla and Phoebe, highlighting their contributions to the early church.  In her research, she employed modern Biblical criticism, as well as an ancient Greco-Roman epistolary format, to persuade her audience of the necessity of female leadership in Christian communities.
