Pamela Ahern is a current undergraduate student of History and Anthropology at TCU. Her interests in History include the social and cultural aspects as well as the print culture of early modern Britain. Pamela recently completed an internship with TCU’s Special Collections in order to further her experience for a future career in academia. This experience has allowed her to work with Special Collections’ impressive collection of many of her favorite authors. Pamela’s project with Special Collections’ 19th-century works originated from an interest in the challenges that early women authors faced, and how they overcame social prejudices by publishing their works that would eventually become some of the most cherished novels of all time.
