AFROTC Winter 2017 Newsletter

A Message from your Detachment Commander

Another great semester where Det 845 has shown how competitive we are on the national stage. Once again we have been named the best small Det in the region.
This marks the 2nd year in a row! We have also had individual successes as cadets receive national level awards like the USAA excellence award. Members have also been selected to attend conferences like the National Character Leadership Symposium and elite education opportunities such as the Field Engineering Readiness Lab. Cadets are not the only ones blazing trails. Our very own Mrs. Janet Martin was named the Southwest Region University/Civilian employee of the year while both Capt Simmons and Lt Davis have been selected to be members of development Tiger

Teams hosted by AFROTC/HQ and designed to restructure how AFROTC trains future officers. All of these successes are due to the quality of the cadet program and the team as a whole. Each and every one of you play a part in the success of the unit and I’m honored the AF has given me the privilege to be a part of this team. Keep up the good work as we push into the spring semester and as always be sure to keep an eye out for your Wingman because no amount of awards or achievements matter unless we all can reap the benefits.
