Recently featured in Fort Worth Magazine, Casa Mañana's production of the Tony Award-winning musical Come From Away gives Fort Worth audiences a chance to experience the remarkable story of TCU alumna Beverley Bass ’74.

A double major in Spanish and interior design, Bass went on to become American Airlines’ first female captain. Her experience as a pilot stranded in Newfoundland on Sept. 11, 2001, inspires one of the musical’s central characters and the show's signature song, “Me and the Sky.”

"It's a story about humanity and kindness," Bass said of Come From Away.

Bass's groundbreaking aviation career continues to inspire audiences, bringing the story of a Horned Frog trailblazer to stages across the country.
