AddRan Associate Dean Discusses TCU's AI Certificate in Dallas Morning News
As colleges prepare students for a workforce increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, The Dallas Morning News featured Muriel Cormican, associate dean of undergraduate studies in the AddRan College of Liberal Arts and professor of German, discussing TCU's new interdisciplinary AI certificate.
Launching this fall, the four-course certificate is designed for students across all disciplines, introducing them to the practical applications and ethical considerations of AI. Students will complete a required course, A Human-Centered AI Future, along with electives spanning fields such as computer science, digital culture and religion.
"The credential is a signpost for employers," Cormican told The Dallas Morning News. "They're getting a degree in geography. But you know what? Underneath that, there are these AI skills that will be important to you."
