Taking on Modern Challenges Through a Liberal Arts Lens

AddRan Interdisciplinary Research and Creative Activity Clusters
Established by Sonja Watson, dean of the AddRan College of Liberal Arts, the goal of the interdisciplinary research clusters is to bring together teacher-scholars from diverse academic disciplines to work collaboratively in addressing complex problems that cannot be effectively solved within the boundaries of a single field.
The four clusters include:
- Data, Culture, and Technology co-lead by Dr. Sean Crotty and Dr. Brad Lucas
- Health, Humanities, and Society co-lead by Dr. Layne Craig and Dr. Carol Thompson
- Community-Based Research and Social Change co-lead by Dr. Rashaan DeShay and Dr. Stacie McCormick
- A Human-centered AI Future co-lead by Dr. Muriel Cormican and Dr. Xiaolu Zhou
The AddRan Research Council
We know that research and creative activity thrive across all departments in the AddRan College of Liberal Arts. Our Research Council was formed to recognize faculty leadership in earning external funding awards for research and creative activity. Complementing the work of our graduate programs, this advisory body will share its practical experience and insights as teacher-scholars as TCU expands its research and creative activity across the disciplines.
