Sophia R. Nelson, Writing and Rhetoric & English double major

Sophia R Nelson

Class of 2026

"Essentially, I chose my majors because they reflect what I’m truly passionate about. Not a day goes by when I’m not thinking about a book, convincing someone to read, or writing a little poem of my own. At first, my majors felt valuable only to me, as a way to grow in a space I loved. But throughout my years at TCU, I’ve come to realize that words are the foundation of our society. Understanding language, the ways we communicate, and the power words hold is valuable not only in my personal life and education but also in the workforce."
