At TCU English, join the community of students, scholars, rhetoricians, and creative writers, where we come together to discuss, critique, and share the worldviews that have and continue to shape the English language, literature, and the arts.

We offer three undergraduate majors and minors in English, Writing & Rhetoric, and Creative Writing that develop your strengths as a critical thinker, writer, and speaker in local, national, and global contexts.

In addition, TCU English administrates majors and minors in Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies, as well as minors in Latinx Studies and African and African American Studies. These interdisciplinary programs give students opportunities to research and develop skills in areas vital to global citizenship and success in a variety of fields.

Students leave our programs with a more profound knowledge of language, literature, and culture and skills that are valuable to a wide range of professional careers. Many of our alumni have pursued successful careers in fields ranging from law to journalism to social work.
