The TCU major in Latin American Studies prepares students for careers in the global arena, with a strong foundation in language and interdisciplinary studies. With thirty-plus faculty affiliates across eleven academic departments, Latin American Studies fosters the development of international cultural literacy through a variety of methodological lenses. Students approach Latin America via its literature, music, religion, film, history, economics, art, politics, and geography. They are especially encouraged to participate in Study Abroad experiences to develop their own first-hand knowledge of the region.Graduates of the Latin American Studies program pursue careers in business, education, law, government, health care, and public service. With its links to the humanities and social sciences, Latin American Studies also serves as excellent preparation for those considering graduate school. In an increasingly transnational and multilingual world, choose a major that opens the doors to linguistic and cultural literacy and allows you to navigate the future.
