Program Overview

To earn a major or minor in Italian at TCU, you can take courses in advanced grammar and composition, conversation, culture, cinema, and literature. You’ll also have the opportunity to study abroad in semester and year-long programs that are available through TCU Global.

Members of the Italian Club attend informal conversation gatherings, pizza and movie nights, trips to the local gelateria, and outings to the Dallas Opera. A major or minor in Italian may greatly enhance studies in other languages as well as in art history, music, business, political science, English, education, design, and many more.

 

Featured Course

Italian Theater
This course explores exemplary works of Italian theater from the 16th to the 20th century with the goal of providing students with an introduction to the canonical texts of the Italian theatrical tradition. Plays by Machiavelli, Goldoni, Manzoni, Mascagni, and Pirandello will be read, discussed, and performed in the class in order to aid students in their continuing development of Italian language skills. The course is taught in Italian; all reading will be in Italian.
