Besides being a triple major, Jackson is also an honors student at the John V. Roach Honors College and serves as the President of the TCU Speech and Debate team.  He completed a research project on the impact of COVID on real estate agents and the housing market under the supervision of Dr. Zack Hawley. Jackson presented his findings at the 2023 Addran Student Research and Creativity Symposium and his study was awarded the title of Outstanding Research Project by the Addran College of Liberal Arts.

Dr. Gordeev received his PhD in Economics from the University of Rochester in 2022 and was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Connecticut before joining TCU. His research focuses on the intersection of macroeconomics and development.

 

Dr. John Harvey was featured in the Spring issue of the TCU Magazine. In the article entitled "Digital Safety Net", Dr. Harvey recommends creating a Federal Cyber Insurance Corp., which would protect the U.S. from ransomware and other online crimes.

The inaugural W. Charles Sawyer Memorial Lecture will take place at 7pm on Thursday, February 22, in BLUU Auditorium. A private screening of Finding the Money, the award-winning documentary on how federal government budgeting really works will be followed by Q&A with Dr. Stephanie Kelton, former economist for the Senate Budget Committee and advisor to presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. She is currently Professor of Economics and Public Policy at Stony Brook University. In addition to her scholarly work, Dr. Kelton is the author of New York Times Best Seller, The Deficit Myth: Modern Monetary Theory and the Birth of the People's Economy (2020, Public Affairs).

Dr. John Harvey will be giving the keynote speech on "Horned Frognostications: An Analysis of Current Economic Conditions and a Look Toward the Future" at 11am in the DJ Kelly Alumni & Visiting Center.

Dr. Gardner received his PhD from Michigan State University in 2023. His research focuses on applied microeconomics, with a special interest in sexual and reproductive health. In his first semester at TCU, he is teaching Intro to Microeconomics.

Finalists are nominated and voted on by Honors students. Dr. Hawley teaches an Honors class in “Intro to Microeconomics.”

The article entitled "Banking Crises Are Preventable, But Human Nature Gets in the Way" reports how TCU students who had taken Dr. Quinn's class on financial history sent him messages when Silicon Valley Bank collapsed because they couldn’t believe that the bank runs they had studied were happening again.

The Deans’ Award for Teaching is one of the highest university-level awards at TCU, honoring TCU faculty members nominated by their peers for demonstrating exceptional dedication to teaching and teaching-related activities. Nominations are selective: only one from each college or school and two from AddRan College of Liberal Arts.

The Hal Wright Chair was created from the estate of Betty S. and Hal James Wright '32. The chair was previously held by Dr. W. Charles Sawyer.

Dr. Rosemarie Fike was featured in the Spring issue of the TCU Endeavors magazine. In the article entitled "A Moral Market?", Dr. Fike talks about the impact of government interference in a free economy.
