The MLA Program is a multidisciplinary program that offers a wide range of educational opportunities to students of diverse educational backgrounds.
What's New for MLA?
While most 13-year-olds are wrapping up middle school, Andrew Stewart is adding another college degree to his list. Andrew recently walked the stage at TCU’s first-ever ceremony dedicated solely to graduate students, earning a Master of Liberal Arts degree as one of the university’s youngest graduates ever.

This spring, Kyle Fields ’23 will walk the stage for his Master of Liberal Arts, two years after graduating with a degree in communication studies from the Schieffer College of Communication. This time, he’ll walk at TCU’s first-ever ceremony solely for graduate students, and he’ll do so with his mom, Brandi Fields, who is earning her Executive MBA from the Neeley School of Business.

Christopher Pace, an MLA student earning his degree from Richmond, VA, was recently awarded black belt in martial arts from Stokes American Open Taekwondo. Chrstopher shared that the five tenets are courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self discipline, and indominable spirit. Congratulations Christopher!

Lauren Ford-Loyd, Haley Dibrell, and Angel Smith presented at the Texas Graduate Liberal Studies Symposium in the summer of 2023 held on the campus of Southern Methodist University. The one day event provides an opportunity for students and alumni from Texas graduate liberal studies programs to share their experiences and studies and continue to explore timeless and timely human questions within the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.

TCU Track and Field team member Maria Bienvenu competed in the Javelin at the upcoming USA Track and Field Olympic Team Trials.

TCU rifle's Stephanie Grundsoee has earned a spot on Denmark's Olympic Team for the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. She becomes the second Olympian in program history, joining Sarah Scherer who competed in the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games. Click here to read more.

Hailey Van Lith guided Team USA to a bronze medal in 3x3 competition at the Olympic Games Paris. Van Lith led Team USA in cumulative scoring over its 10-game stay in Paris. She was the only active collegian selected to compete for USA Basketball in 5-on-5 or 3x3. Click here to read the full story.
