Students must be (or have been) registered in an advanced German course (beyond Intermediate German), have a B+ minimum average in all German courses taken, have a minimum of B- in all courses of study at the university level, and indicate continued interest in the study of German language and literature. Check out the TCU German Facebook page for updates on events.>
Pi Delta Phi: National French Honor Society
Pi Delta Phi is the national French honor society for undergraduate and graduate students at accredited public and private universities. It is the highest academic honor in the field of French and the oldest academic honor society for a modern foreign language in the United States. The purpose of the society is to recognize outstanding scholarship in the French language and Francophone literature, to increase the knowledge and appreciation of Americans for the cultural contributions of the French-speaking world, and to stimulate and to encourage French and francophone cultural activities.
Phi Sigma Iota: International Foreign Language Honor Society
The society recognizes students who excel in language learning. Phi Sigma Iota is open to undergraduate students pursuing a curriculum with a major or minor in a foreign language with a minimum GPA of 3.3. Events, such as foreign film nights, are open to all TCU students. An initiation ceremony is held every spring.
National Spanish Honor Society
Sigma Delta Pi, the National Spanish Honor Society, honors students who attain academic excellence in studying Spanish language, literature and culture. This group encourages college and university students to acquire a greater interest in and deeper understanding of the cultures of the Hispanic world. Membership is also open to undergraduate students. For further information, please contact Club and Society Moderator Dr. Dianne Hobbs, or Ms. Irina Mozuliova.
