Student Experience

Your Pre-Law Experience Starts Here
Preparing for law school is about more than what happens in the classroom. It’s about finding your community, developing your voice, building confidence and gaining experiences that help you discover where a future in law can take you.
Through our pre-law student organizations, you’ll have opportunities to connect with students who share your interests, strengthen your advocacy and leadership skills, engage with the legal profession and put what you’re learning into practice.
Find your community. Challenge yourself. Build your pre-law experience.
Pre-Law Groups
Kappa Alpha Pi (KAPi) is a co-ed pre-law and government fraternity established at TCU in Spring 2024. The organization brings together motivated students interested in legal and public service careers and offers support through alumni connections, discounted LSAT prep and employer and law school information sessions.
TCU Mock Trial is a student-led organization supported by AddRan and the Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice. Established in 2021, the team competes nationally by reenacting courtroom trials and has earned numerous awards, including advancing to the Opening Round Championship Series in 2025. The program now fields two competitive teams, holds annual fall tryouts and hosts the Mock Frogs Invitational each year.
Moot Court is an undergraduate program in which our students argue a hypothetical set case before a mock appellate court. Students gain analytic and oral advocacy skills by doing their own legal research to develop the structure and content of an argument for the set case, and by arguing the case both in many practice sessions and in inter-collegiate competitions. TCU’s Moot Court team competes through the Texas Undergraduate Moot Court Association and is regularly invited to invitational tournaments and regional competitions.
The TCU Pre-Law Society connects students interested in pursuing law school with resources and experiences that support their journey. Members engage with guest speakers, admissions representatives and legal professionals while accessing opportunities such as practice LSATs, law school tours and admissions events.
