The BA with a major in anthropology requires 30 semester hours, at least 24 of which must be in anthropology, including at least nine hours from the following: archaeology, cultural anthropology, language and culture, and physical anthropology. With prior approval of the program director, up to six semester hours of courses from outside anthropology may be applied toward the major. With approval of the program director and AddRan College, credit may also be obtained for fieldwork courses taken through other accredited institutions.
Anthropology minors need to take a total of 18 hours of coursework, including two of the four introductory courses (six hours).
AddRan College students may take up to nine semester hours of courses on a P/NC basis. Anthropology majors may not take any courses for the major in P/NC. However, courses applied to the minor can be taken on P/NC basis. Students minoring in anthropology are subject to the pass/no credit policy of their major department.
