A MESSAGE FROM YOUR DETACHMENT COMMANDER
To our new students; Welcome! For those returning; Welcome Back! We had a very busy summer sending 9 cadets to LEAD (1 as a trainer), 2 to Project Go internships, 2 for Operation Air Force and another to jump training at the Air Force Academy. The Daedalians also provided scholarships for two of our cadets to solo in their first aircraft. All of our cadets returned from their respective training with glowing reports and top marks for performance. I’m especially proud that the Det maintained the tradition of excellence at summer training. Once again over 60% or our cadets returned having earned Distinguished Graduate or Superior Performer ratings.
We are already starting the year strong. This year’s freshman class is the largest in over 5 years. I challenge each of them to take up the high standards set by their cadet leadership and I challenge all returning cadets to raise the bar even higher than before. The hard work and dedication of the cadets from this unit have not gone unnoticed. It is my privilege to announce that for the 2nd year in a row we have been given the High Flight Award for being the BEST small Detachment in the Southwest Region. We will now compete for the national award this November. Winning this award once was an accomplishment, having now won it twice back to back is a triumph and I can’t express how proud I am of each and every one of you. Great job! I can’t wait to see what you all accomplish next.
