Language Media Center (the Lab)
The Language Media Center, known as the Lab, is in Room 3004, Scharbauer Hall. This facility is available to all students currently registered in one of the language courses offered by the Department of Modern Language Studies or the Department of Spanish and Hispanic Studies.
The main room is equipped with 32 computer workstations, both Mac and PCs, connected to the university computer network. Cultural and instructional software is available for student use. In addition, the lab has a document camera, projector with computer, regular VCR and DVD player as well as an international DVD player. The center has a stock of foreign language films. There is also an additional, smaller Media Room with computers, scanner, and TV connected to international VCR and DVD player for individual and small group work.
During regular semesters, the Lab is open:
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Tuesday and Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hours may change in any given semester. The Lab is only open on days when regular classes are in session, and it is closed on weekends.
The Lab doesn’t hold regular hours of operation during the summer.
